Here's a question for you older gents...do you carry reading glasses with you? I am at the point where I can no longer tie a knot easily as I simply cannot see well enough up close. My other question is do any of you use a swivel and snap set up? Hate to have to use them as I feel they can be weak, take away from the action of the lure, and just more hardware for fish to look at that does not look like bait. Thinking I'll get a cheap pair of readers for the boat and wade with them as well...

My sight was good until 30, then had to get glasses. My issue is I am nearsighted, so gotta take em off to tie a knot-opposite of most old farts (like you Brad-Ha Ha)!!
No snap swivels-I lost some good fish doing that years ago when I tossed hardware-one good fish lost and you'll never use them after that. my eye site is going bad too but I can tie a loop knot in the dark so I don't worry too much about it.
last friday I was using one of those norman speed clips with a swivel and it didn't affect the action of the topwater but a trout twisted the lure off some how. Luckily I had the fish in the net already. I wound up cutting off the clip and just going with the ol' trusty loop knot.Comment

I picked up a nice pair of Polarized sunglasses with built in readers that work great! Carrying a pair of cheaters is a pain cause you're always having to trade them out with your sunglasses.
Also, I've had a few problems with snap swivels and Norton clips. Now I either tie directly or use Tony clips. They're the best, hands down."Curmudgeon only pawn in game of life."

I just did it until I needed glasses. Didn't go blind. It's all about timing. I have to wear glasses all of the time, so I have transition no line bi-focals.
