Texas City Dike closed

FYI!

The Texas City Dike and the Texas City Channel are closed due to an oil spill at the BP Texas City docks. The oil spill has been stopped and cleanup crews are on location. The Dike and the channel will remained closed until the oil is cleaned up. No time table was given for this. I will be up around 4:30am to go fishing and if there is an new update I'll post it here then.

The Dike is still closed this morning. Skyline Drive is open as well as Boyd's.

Should not affect fishing at all. It was a small amount of oil (100 barrels) that was contained in the port area.

It was bunker oil. They have containment booms in place. Just saw it on the news
