New marina being constructed on Offats?

Heading into and out of Galveston on 45 the last couple of weekends, I noticed right behind Smitty's bait shop there appears to be a good size pier with boat slips being built. Looks like some other construction as well. Any one know what's going in? With the loss of Teakwood marina years ago, and Payco marina in poor shape after Ike, would be great if it's a new facility in this area.

Yea its suppose to be a Costa Rican style marina or sumthin or another complete with restaurant, bar, etc but I would reason to guess its not gonna be come one come all type of place. If for no other reason than the fact that there just aint that much parking there but I guess we'll see soon enough. Be cool if it was though. Can you imagine sittin at a bar within view of boat ramp and related boat ramp activities? O man good times and hard laughs could be had.

International airport I believe just means you can clear customs. This is private aircraft. Land your private plane & go have fun... That's one way to skip the I-45 Beltway 8 bottlenecking lol

correct. Customs being in the airport makes it an international one. Sugar Land Muni airport is now international cause they added customs.
