Anglers,

Here is the official and final format for the Fall Throwback/Retro tourney to be held October 29th out of Harborwak, Mark your calendars for this one it is going to be a blast. Hope to see you there.

· 1,2, or 3 man teams
· $75.00 entry for members, $100.00 for non members
· 3 fish stringer, trout or red fish with no more than one slot red. Only 1 trout over 25”
· 1/2 lb. bonus for live trout. No penalty for dead.
· Launch or leave from any public ramp/marina.
· Limited line use: you can only use FINS braid (will furnish one 150 yard pack per angler)
· Baits: You will be limited to the use of the following baits: 1) Kelly Wiggler Shrimp Tail (will furnish one pack per angler) 2) Russelure (will furnish one per angler) 3) MirrOlure original Top Dog (will furnish one per angler) no Jrs', she dogs, she/he pups, he dogs etc, only the original TOP DOG.
· Calcutta board: 3 categories and 3 places paid (70-20-10). Big trout, Big Red fish, and overall stringer. 80% payback w/ 20% going to Sea Center Texas
Boundaries: Same as the Gulf Coast Trout Series

x2 with Michelle and Redfin Broken backs and super spooks and jumpin monnows. Top dogs were a late copy of spooks-they aint that "retro". Boone Tout Tails appeared way before Kelly Wigglers-I still have some!!

Of course I still have vinyl albums.

Actually I think the original plan was Broken Backs when Capt. Lynn first brought this up in the January GCTS captains meeting. They are providing all baits so it may be a little hard to get 100 to 120 Broken Backs. Not sure on this or why it was changed to Top Dogs. It may be a supply thing. Same with the reels, kinda of hard to gather that many of them, but it would be pretty cool though.

Still going to be a challenge. 40 to 50 teams all throwing the same 3 baits ha ha. Cant wait to see the results on this.

Braid has been around a long time.... Dont remember the brand names but I can remember my Great Grandfather spooling braid up on his Catfish rigs all the time. This was around the late 70's.

Darn, we're having our Texas Lady Angler tournament that same day right across West Bay on the other side. Maybe I can figure out a way to do both but I doubt it. Sounds like fun.

I think that old braid was dacron, I still have a reel with some loaded on it...
