Slam Tournament Should we include 2 COOL??

Guys need some good feedback... I am going to formally announce the Tournament mainly on this website.

I will also post it on 2COOL but didn't know how the mods / admins would take that considering there name (2COOL) is not on the form...

What are yalls thoughts?

I'm all for it as long as there won't be a 2cool group hug at the weigh in. They have at least one of those daily on that site. I don't think i could handle seeing that in person too.

Anyone know if we can sell beer? Should we have it in coolers for sale? Or just have soft drinks and water? BYOB?

I would imagine you need some sort of permit to sell beer. But they usually have kegs at the DU banquets. I know you can give beer away, like maybe free beer with purchase of a t-shirt for 20 bucks!

yeah, I don't think its legal to sell beer without a permit/license.

Just to keep some people from gettin' out of hand, you might want to mention that it is a family event and people need to watch their behavior. That keeps some people from gettin' sloppy drunk. I wouldn't sell beer, there are too many legal questions about that in this state. BYOB is best for all involved. Now if you happen to bring a keg and ask selected people for a donation on the keg and keep it quiet, there shouldn't be any problems.

How about seeing how many people register for the event and take a small amount out to buy the beer and give it away? OR increase the entry fee from $ 40 per to $ 45 or $ 50 and the extra money can go to buying the beverages (beer, water, soft drinks)? Just a thought!

Good thought, but I am leaning towards doing food & drink tickets... I'd go to Walmart or Costco something like that and buy Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite & Water when you buy a plate of food you get a free drink, drinks will be maybe a $1 / each cheaper if I get a good price.

Remember that BBQ will be cooked on site! It is hands down some of the best Brisket, Ribs & Chicken I've ever put in my mouth!

You may consider how big you want the tournament to be. 2Cool gets a bunch of hits and you potentially could get a ton of participants. Putting a cap on the entrants may be an idea.

Good point Mell hopefully we won't have to cap it but if I notice entries flying in we might have to... For all of yall that are on 2COOL... Post up you'll be there
