Well im looking into buying a 1977/1979 trans am, and im wondering if i wreck the thing how easy/expensive would it be get it fixed. If you have any knowledge of this kind of stuff PLEASE comment.

Depend how bad of wreck it is.as far as parts motor and such Chevy and all.Does it have a 400 in it?I'm kinda fond of Pontiac's and all!

You would have to do some searching at some salvage yards to find parts but as the demand for these parts go down, they are scrapping the cars. There are some aftermarket parts warehouses that probably make parts for these older cars but the fit of the part will not be identical. As far as price on the parts, could not tell you that, if its hard to find & used it will probably not be cheap, if its aftermarket it will probably be cheap quality.

depends on how bad you wreck. if you have an original body with no damage, i would try my hardest to make sure it stays that way.

year-one makes a lot of replacement body panels for older popular year model cars, just gotta check if they make them for that yr, they also make just about anything else you could ever need for older cars

Those Trans-Am's are popular but IMHO the truly last Trans-Am that had big muscle was the 1976 model with the 455 HO.
My best friend had one when we where in high school and that car was a monster.

I use to build and work on alot of show trucks. Just about all the parts and junk that I ordered was all aftermarket stuff. With the invention of the web you can just about find any thing you want on the internet. I say go for it!
