Live Shrimp

Has anyone bought any live shrimp lately. I was just wondering the size and quality of what they are bringing in now. Also what are the prices like now? I imagine they have gone up to help with recover costs. I haven't bought any since pre-ike.

Good quality at Unclebucks, Galveston Baity & Tackle, Rusty Hook & West Bay Bait & Tackle are open sporadically...

Rusty Hook 007 can confirm this, said he is operating sun up to sun down has live mullet some shrimp etc.

I remember when Rusty Hook was open 24hrs. If you needed shrimp at 3am, you just rang the bell. Someone would wake up and get shrimp for you. I have had bad luck even catching them open in the few years past. Not to mention "no shrimp" half of the time.

I remember one time Beachbum and Blackbeard were out drinking and fishing at SLP. They ran out of bait and beer and drove to Rusty Hook. They stood outside yelling "Rusty", "Rusty, we need some damn bait" in totally hammered voices trying to get them to open. If I am not mistaken the light turned on and they were so drunk they got in the Jeep and bailed! This was like 8-9 yrs ago.

Shrimpies are real nice right now-Coe hit it. Rusty Hook-them are some pretty tolerant folks-I have stumbled in at late times and rang the bell and watched the lights come on and them come out-they're pretty accomodating. Their kid won the CCA Scholarship-they dump the dead stinky shrimp in the same spot and the sheepies know it-kid caught a monster sheepie at the dump spot and won-pretty cool-they wouldn't tell me where that spot is though (neither would i if I were them!!).
