Or you can hire a crew to take care of you're yard for you. As for I , I enjoy doing it myself.
This type of work seems to be the last of the American dream or you could pour concrete for a living although there is honor in that too.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBLbrJxGtro
Not that much different than a Karankawa indian hunting the shallows at night with a torch and a spear.

This will be one of those "Knowing What I Know Now" post.......Originally posted by Primer View PostAnybody in the friendswood area know of anyone hiring? I'd rather not do food but at this point a job is a job. I'm 17 with my own transportation. I'm going to try some more places this afternoon.
Thanks.
At your age, I would suggest cutting yards around town and surrounding neighborhoods. When I lived in Friendswood a couple of years ago, a yard crew (from you know where) would cut grass for $35.00 a yard. Only one guy on the crew spoke English and they would do a sorry azz job with their oversized mower.
Now, for the business plan. An All-American boy yard service. Don't be shy about being a proud American trying to snatch up some business dominated by "undocumented workers". Who wouldn't want to hire you. You will need a typical 21" deck mower that will not tear up people's yards and a quality gas powered weed-eater. You will have to use a push broom and dust pan until you make enough money to purchase a simple blower. Even after you use the blower, sweep up the clipping instead of leaving them in the street. It is a nice personal touch.
You can also offer your customers exterior window cleaning, yearly fertilizing packages while you are there to cut their grass, fall yard raking. If you put in a solid 9-10 hour day (like the rest of us), you could bring home an average of $140.00 a day before all cost are paid.
