just another bulll **** infringing law. they should take the parks people, along with the crap U.S. fish and wildlife service and throw them in a closet and pizz on them. they add nothing to anything.

cant wait till they BOTH try to pass the "west texas lizard law."

I undertand that Parks and Wildlife have to go searching for bodies that they normally wouldn't if that person had been wearing their jacket, but this is America and we should be able to think for ourselves. We don't need more laws governing us. Especially nanny laws.

Now children are another story. In most cases they aren't able to make educated decisions and that's where their parents come into paly. But if an adult doesn't want to wear his seat belt, etc. then that's his choice.
          Nanny laws

What good does your life jacket do when you fall out of the boat & forgot your kill switch. Boats are not supposed to start without a kill switch how many of those never put it on their wrist?

It's not a matter of whether you can swim but what happens if you get knocked out or the impact on the water knocks the wind out of you. You land face down in water, your brain signals because your out of breath the first thing you instinctively do is breath in but your face is underwater & you drown.

The auto inflatable life jacket (suspenders) are great. Light weigh & respond quickly in case of submersion.

          Seat belts:

If an adult isn't smart enough to realize they are more likely to survive in a crash with a seat belt then without one then we need laws enforcing people to remain safe. Heck I think they should go a step further where you can't put the car from park to drive without having your seat belt on.

Your perception on things like this changes when you have friends here one minute & then they are dead & gone the next.

It is plain stupid to not wear your seat belt & heck yes ticket everyone without one on!

                Boat - not too often.

Kayak - Most, if not all the time.

I bought my girlfriend a kayak lifejacket last weekend for $50. She forgot to bring it so I made her wear one of those cheap embarrassing $5 orange ones because it was so rough out. She wasn't pleased

Wear mine at night, rough seas, running solo or with waders on.

I do agree with you to some extent. However, this is the United States of America. If you don't want to wear your seat belt you shouldn't have to wear it. And I enforce laws for a living.
