  • Pirates Really?

I have a friend that works for the TPWD law enforcement division in La Marque that shared something with me that I think will be an eye opener to us all? PIRATES? Yes" they are here, not like Capt. Jack sparrow, but water thieves. He works in the investigation unit, just like the police have theirs, TPWD has theirs as well, there are mounting cases thruout the Texas and Louisiana coastal regions where boats are being jacked daily, mainly keying in on wade fisherman, most of them within 100 yards or so of their own boats. The pirates (so called) can approach within minutes, board and be gone with all of the goodies, pistols, money, wallets, jewelry, keys, rods & reels, everything that’s not glued down. And the worst of it all is they are taking the main boat keys or breaking them off in the ignition. So, makes you think a little as to do I really need to bring this stuff with me, or leave it locked up. Additionally, take out your boat key, hide or lock-up any and all valuables, don’t leave out exposed items, he told me that the main ingredient was targeting 4-5 waders, in their eyes this is a mother load of goodies on that boat. So, now! we already carry enough **** with us as waders, so I guess now we haul around a water proof floating rifle w/scope humm?

    Be safe and take care

This is a great post! I am grateful to Fishalot for taking the time and effort to alert us (we fisherman) to the issue of "pirates" in our waters. I encourage everyone to read this post, put this issue into conversation with your fishing partners, develop a plan and response, and rehearse it. Preparation is key...and do remember that we have inherent rights to protect ourselves and our property when threatened by another.

On a side note...keep an eye on the weather this week as light winds with favorable direction (southeast) are in the forecast.

Be well everyone...and enjoy fishing this week!

Arrr Matey. Make the bastages walk the plank (right after shooting them in the lower region). Geez, this is terrible-someone please catch them and maime/hurt them-these types need a dose of deep water with 50 lbs. of weight tied to their rears.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

we have left the boat a long ways while wading and always wondered about what would happen if we were to get the boat stolen. I have always heard about it but never seen it happen.

I keep my phone in a ziplock in my shirt. If I got busted I'm calling Sandy to head 'em off at the pass until I get my arse over there.

Looks like it's time to move up from my .380 to my M1. I'm gonna need a bigger dry box.

I've wondered about that too while wading alone. That and alligators, sharks, stingrays, Bigfoot, Chupa-Cabras, and that buck toothed girl GSB use to date. Whew! It's a scary world out there.....

I've had my truck broken into while wading at Skyline. I sure could have used a rifle on that day. Sorry POS broke into 3 trucks....
