Having had travel problems of the same, usually the La Quinta's or the Best Western's accept dogs. There is a Best Western in Clute, and a couple of La Quinta's in Galveston. Another resource that is good is VRBO.
La Quinta does accept dogs and has no fee they treat them just like a person so if they mess something up you'll have to pay.
Sadie & Aimee (2 labs) spent 3 days with me in Port Arthur one weekend they loved the room. I just didn't allow the staff to come into the room (privacy sign) and kept them in their kennel when I left.
We will prolly be fishing and playin Beach "pick" Pocket #1.
I think I may get up before the sun on Sunday morning and walk across the street and see what I can catch off the wall.
LaQuinta for sure...stayed at the one at 14th and Seawall 2 weeks ago for 3 nights and it was okay. Rooms were good enough and the staff very friendly. Didn't know about Maravilla...will keep that one in mind for next time. If you're on the road...Drury Inns are dog friendly, and usually pretty damn nice. When going long distances with the dog, we usually judge where we'll stay by the Drury Inns available.

Thanks guys. I just booked a room over in CLUTE, TX. I' going to give Surfside a try. If I can't catch any meat without feet at least I can catch a buzz on the beach.
Fishing recommendations for the surf? Any good spots to fish around lights at night in Surfside/Freeport? Etc.
I beleive the surf won't be troutable...maybe long rod-ible. Inside jetty's freelining bait, or DOAs maybe. Wind is supposed to kickup tomorrow afternoon again.

things today at the beach were okay, tomorrow is another thing. I sure hope you have a wonderful time no matter what. The jetty is gonna be crazy so if you choose to go there, go early and stake out your spot. There is a place behind Perry's and the Crabbing pier that you might find fun. Not many know about it. You throw your line into the intercoastal. Its pretty comfortable, and DEEP, and I've fished there a lot of times. Just dont tell the outsiders about it. Caught some decent fish there too. The only problem is, it gets trashed. I spend my time waiting for the fish, picking up the trash.

Thanks for that info...I sometimes look for a spot to go throw while taking a wave break when I'm down!

checked the beach today with a friend. The waves were picking up, the crack heads were gathering and seaweed was not too bad. The sand was ok at best, didnt get to the Pass.
It was good, for about a 30 minute bite right at tide shift.
Bobcat...there's places to get away, but being a Corpus native I can tell you there is nothing like what you are probably hoping for!
