  • Lookin' for 2 fishin' partners for tournament: SLP area

The annual Titlum-Tatlum Cup tournament is coming up June 10, 11, and 12. I'm looking for 2 hardcore fishermen to partner up with me. This is SLP area only: West Bay, Bastrop, Christmas, Cold Pass. The rules are simple. A partner in a camp on the bayou must be in the boat for any fish to count. Heaviest legal stringer consisting of 2 reds, 1 trout, and 1 flounder wins.

Fishing begins on the 11th with final weigh in at noon on the 12th. With 4 partners in this place, I'm hoping to have 4 boats out fishing. I'm leaving the other partners to themselves, but I'm looking for 2 people to join me on my boat or we can go on yours. Intimate knowledge of the area is a must. I want to learn something and hopefully make a good showing in the tourney.

You will get the luxuriant lodging that Blockade Runners has to offer, including gourmet food, good camaraderie, and excellent live music on Saturday night. You'll be expected to fish hard and enjoy yourself. PM for consideration. I'll choose the 2 most qualified individuals. - Sandy

Sandy...i would love to fish this with you but its 1 weekend late for me. That being said, give me a couple of days to look for a shift trade for that weekend. Been a few good fish caught that way, and i think we could put together a good stringer ....wind or no wind!

If it smells like fish....you know I've been there!

I don't know krap about the area, but I do know that you can't catch feech without a line in the water.
I keep my line in the water as much or more than the next guy. I know you want to get to know the area, but if it comes down to it, I would be willing to fish hard and learn the area with you.
Too many fish are waiting for me to find them.

            Hmmmmmmmmmmm...

I guess that you are giving my spot to someone else...I see how you are! How intimate does one have to be with the area? I released a mud shark by the pier several years ago. Is that good enough or how about a 29 1/2" trout? I got a pic of that one and the pic weighed 7#-14oz. How about the huge red sitting in the car with the window rolled up...remember that one?...LOL

I don't know Vic but it sure sounded to me like you had been tossed to the side, how soon they forget your loyalty and now he's starting to crawfish since you called his hand on it.

Clark08 is working on a new bait dyeing recipe. Something like a catfish stinkbait crossed with rotten dried mullet, dipped in a radioactive slurry he got from Japan's nuke plants-says the fish turn blue, pop to the surface for air and he nets em. Says he limits everytime he uses the stuff. I bet Clark's available-just don't let him be upwind of you.

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. I'm hardcore but I don't know that area like I use to. I'd get us stuck real quick probably.

Sandy, taking the Gator-Tail would guarantee you never get stuck & we can probably catch some air jumping all the shell reefs in the area
