                Cool pics Derek.

Coe, Moon Dog cleaned the grouper for us down in Freeport. He just knocked it out just like any other fish. He does a great job

Hey DN thanks for posting the pics. I was swamped at work all day yesterday and couldn't get em up... We had a badass time. Even though the original plan was to get out further and drift for Swords at night we jigged at Tequila Sunrise all night and caught world record blue runners, a big lesser AJ and a giant Jack Crevalle. With RSNs magical driving skills, DN was able to tie us off on Sunrise in a nasty headwind and 3-6s tearing through the base of the rig.
At about 430AM, a big everglades passed by at 50 yards, turned 90 degrees port and then turned their lights off... kinda weird.

The night at sunrise was pretty crappy and we were happy to see the sky go from black to light blue. We tied off and set a troll for Tequila, searching for anything that would hit. After trolling circles in/out and around of Tequila, we busted out the grouper rig and sent a lively world record sized blue runner 600ft down to what would be his certain death... death by warsaw grouper. Not sure which Okuma reel it was, but the Billystix rod broke but was still able to function. RSN and DN had it spun with 300lb braid and with the reel in high gear and its drag maxed at 70lbs, reeling the handle 1 degree was impossible (even with the rod in the holder). At one point we thought we were just hooked to a pipe 600ft below us due to the lack of line that was able to be reeled in. After 40 minutes, the line went slack and I thought I lost it. Reeling as fast as possible, something caught my eye on the horizon... It was the grouper floating 100 yards away from us.

Worked the weed lines and some spots on the way in to no avail... No worries, with two fish we had 50 lbs of filets!!

                          Nice report Steve.

You can fish on our boat any day of the week. Steve deserves all the credit for the grouper because he caught the live bait that we needed. Same with the bullshark that we caught last month, without Steve we wouldn't have had the baits we needed. Let's keep the streak going next trip...
