There's have a pair of crazy crows nesting near our house. We have a bird bath in the back yard which they use everyday. My daughter has been keeping track of what they bring each day. So far 2 frogs, 1 snake, hambuger bun, a slice of texas toast, bird eggs, carrot, cheeto, pecans and a dog food.

Pretty cool.
Once when I lived up in N. TX I was walking to class and I saw a group (technically called a "murder") of crows perching on the ground and in low branches. Looked pretty unusual so I went to investigate. Got there and found a mama rabbit had found a very bad place out in the open to have her babies. The crows had gotten all but one already. They would land a bit away from her, and she would run at them and chase them. Then as she chased that one, another would come around back. I was already late so I walked off. Not like I was about to save it anyways. As I walked off, I heard that little rabbit scream as a crow got it.
Five minutes later and I am still walking a quarter of a mile away. One of the crows flies in with the bloody rabbit, and lands 20 yards away from me, drops it, and just looks at me as if to say "See, we got it anyways". I move at it, and he picks it up and flies off. Creepily smart birds.

Are they crows or grackels? I remember when Willie had a pet crow down at Oyster Lake; it would steal every flashy lure in your tackle box if you left it open.
BTW, what's the latest on that paper I signed for you? I'm interested in coming down and being there.

I don't if it's true or not but I once heard that a hand raised crow makes for a great pet and that they even learn to talk like a Parrot.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBLbrJxGtro
Not that much different than a Karankawa indian hunting the shallows at night with a torch and a spear.
