There is always confusion after a tournament. However before the tournament days if not weeks, I had 10-12 anglers call me & ask specific questions. Due to the fact that we combined 2 tournaments, they wondered how everything was going to play out. Thus the reason for my first post on this thread.
July 9, 2011.
We have merged in with the SLAM tournament set to be held on July 9, 2011.
1st - 3rd place for Trout / Red & Flounder closest to 21" without going over will receive a custom made fishing rod.
1st place red / flounder & trout will receive a custom made fishing trophy by Roy Perry with Boat Works.
1st person to bring in 5 live flounder will receive a free O2 System donated by Pro-O2
Kids Division: (12 & under) any species heaviest single fish! All kids will receive a participation trophy and winners (1st-3rd) will receive some larger ones. No bonus or deduction for kids division.
Adult Division:
Black Jack mentioned above (individual contest)
Side Pot - Redfish with the most spots - 100% cash payout
Heavy Stringer (TEAM / BOAT) - Max 4 anglers / team or boat + any number of kids allowed to fish with adults. All persons on the boat must be registered to fish the touranment, no exceptions unless it has been pre-approved by a touranment official (ME)
Heavy Stringer (5 FISH!!) it will have a cash payout! Payout will be based upon total number of entries. (Heavy Stringer for the boat can only have 1 trout over 25" and only 2 reds any other combination of trout (under 25") or flounder are allowed) Legally you are allowed more than that but you are only allowed to approach the weigh master with 1 trout over 25" & 2 redfish, any combination with those are allowed or without. You cannot bring in two 30" trout only 1 will count nor can you bring in 3 reds only 2 will be counted, I hope that's clear. Remember its a 5 fish heavy stringer!!

Kids: $10 - Free Trophy included (Kids 12 & under only)
Adults: $60 (includes free 1 year subscription to Texas Outdoors Journal, Koozie & a club sticker)
Optional Side Pot: $10 / per adult - redfish with the most spots 100% cash payout for side pot.
Live Weigh in - 8oz / fish for any live fish weighed in, no deduction for dead fish.
**** Please note Flounder that are brought in will be accepted dead due to the heat & the fact that Sea Center is at full capacity****

As everyone can see, spelling, culture, and tact are not major concerns at LSU.

Ha. I like it. Here is one for you that I just made up
No one really cares who our teacher is or not.
the catholic girl helping me "tutor" is so freakin hot.
We are all there for the football and boos
oh, not to mention the hunting and fishing too.
So, heres to all you non-LSU fans.
I will raise my glass, cause the fun just began
If you dont like LSU, I wont grin
I will show you up on the next tourney I win.
"WINNNNING"

Typical LSU fan. Here's some verse for the ugly purple and gold:
Down along the Mississippi
Standing in plain view
Is an old abandoned outhouse
known as LSU
Oh the odor
Oh the odor
Oh what a terrible smell
Before I go to LSU
I would go to Hell
It's a helluva life when you go to Tulane
They work you hard as Hell
You work and you work
And you work and you work
And they flunk you just as well.
To Hell with all the Doctors
And engineering too
'Cause if you flunk at old Tulane
You can teach at LSU

RULES
20. Trophies will be awarded to 1st place for the Trout, Red & Flounder categories
21. 1st – 3rd place for Blackjack will receive a Custom fishing rod made by Billy StiX, Charlie’s Custom Rods or Coastal Custom Rods.
22. Heavy Stringer: 5 fish stringer - only 1 trout over 25" and max of 2 slot reds per stringer / team. CASH PAYOUT
I'm probably just misinterpreting this, but I thought there was:
22: a cash payout for heavy stringer
21: Custom rods (very nice by the way) for the BlackJack winner - Closest to 21"
20:Trophy awarded to the biggest trout, red and flounder.
Regardless, we had a good time and will fish it again next year. I like the Black Jack twist giving everyone a chance to win. If nothing else, giving trophies to the biggest overall fish in each catagory will further spread the prizes.
Thanks again for a fun tournament.

Lets quite bashing the guys that worked the tourney... They did a jam up job I think everyone would say so myself... Except for the folks crying to you who ever they maybe..? It really doesn't matter...? What was it a 3 lb red the only way they can be upset is if the fish would have put them in teh money... I doubt that was the case... JMO LSU-monte don't listen to hear say, come on out and compete and show us that you are not all key board... LMAO

No fish were lost. One team did drop a fish in the water transferring from boat to weigh bag. O2 systems are like crack for reds.Originally posted by LSU-monte View PostWow. This is all here say. I wasnt there. I would have liked to be there though.
Another "Here say" is that the weigh master team almost dropped some nice reds in the water.
All in good fun. I am not poining fingers, nor want to get any of your panties in a wad. Id rather talk fishing than reflect back.

It's all good man! My kiddo brought in a mangrove snapper and it jumped out of my hand and into the weigh masters crotch. He was showing it some love and I almost had to cover her eyes....LOL! Good Times
For me, this is what it was all about..

Thanks FWE!!!

Coe,Originally posted by WestEndAngler View PostWell if you heard it was good tourney, then you were not there. If you were not there how do you know it was 21"?
There was only 1 fish exactly 21" & that was a Trout.
We already have a professional weigh master team so no need to bring yours his opinion won't matter.
He said 21' Red not 21", that may be where the confusion is????
