Found this guy

Happen to find this guy stranded on a reef this morning. There was about 10 of them sitting there and they all flew off but him. He tried but something was holding him back, upon further inspection I found he was caught by a lure. once released he appeared fine.

I caught a pelican a few weeks ago on a bone super spook jr. I cast it and he dove straight onto it! He was released and was fine, but when he flew by the boat the next time, he swung way wide and around.

as much as I hate them birds, I would have done the same. but then snapped his neck after I freed it

They do kill alot of fish with thier ability to swim under the surface BUT they do seem to locate fish for me aswell. I have found a many of Trout by watching these birds. I seen one a few years ago in a canal in Bayou Vista come up with a 12 to 14" Flounder. O'well, no reason for him to die tangled up in fishing line and a lead head. If I catch him again I will take him to JT's buddy Mackey and put him on da grill!

I probably would have just stompped on his head. Those things kill more fish than you can imagine. It's not that big of a deal down there, but up where i'm from there are tons of land owners that hate them.

Why TPWD protects those things is beyond me.

Bailey, Unclehandy, Blackbeard & I were catching bait one day in the surf and we fed the leftovers to this one bird... The thing would fly away when we approached, we tossed a fish and it would fly back... After the 20th fish it no longer flew but waddled over

I was thinking the same thing Alex! What the he!! kind of rig is this? It was probably Moonpie's more than likely.... I know he fished in West Bay yesterday......
