  • Gas prices keeping you from fishing?

Gas sure is getting up there.

Are the prices keeping you from fishing yet?

I've started burning Coca Cola in my outboard. It costs less than the garbage they sell at gas stations now, and it has less water in it too.

I wouldn't mind so much the gas prices being where they are with all the stuff going on in the world today, but the quality of the product has me outraged.

Naw, coffee and beer are still running a little over 10 bucks a gallon, and gas is about $3.65 or so a gallon, about double the price of gasoline. What it means to me is more drifting and wading, shorter runs, more "free" fishing like in the surf and walking the bayside, and picking the better weather and tides. The guys it hurts the most are the offshore fishermen who can burn 50 to 250 gallons in a single 12-hour fishing day. In July 2008 we put 1,100 bucks into one day's worth of fishing after topping it off at the fuel dock! What's your average inshore daily burn, like 5 to 10 gallons? You got cheap expenses even at ten gallons of gas and two gallons of beer, cokes, or water in small plastic bottles, less than $70. Ugh, lose the live shrimp, dude, them are like 40 bucks a gallon!

Gas can run $10 a gallon. It won't stop me from fishing. I'll just find closer spots to home.

Not yet...but it is definately is starting to become a consideration...I walk n wade a lot anyway, so it looks like I'll be doing more of that...just have to talk more people into going with me when i take the boat...my beast has a 76 gallon tank, but it still may get better mileage than my tired old F150!!

Obama is an idiot-wait-off topic-Obama is a stupid farging idiot-that's better. Reid should resign and Pelousy should also.

Oh crapola, this was about gasoline prices-I was thinking what gives me indigestion/gas and makes my stomach burn.

Nope, me and JT like $4/gallon gasoline prices. Like Eddie Chiles used to say: "If you don't have an oil well, get one."
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

im with you there, i pull with a deisel and its REDICULOUS !!!!! considering trading it in for a new gas burner, but dont know if the mileage while pulling would even out in the end anyways
I dont always drink beer, but when i do , I prefer to be fishing !!!!!

Wait a minute, Obama said that if you have enough left over money to have a boat, fuel costs should not be a problem. Well he did not say that but sounds like something he would answer. His energy czar wants $9 a gallon fuel. So far their plan is working.

I have not gone out due to this. 40 Gallons of gas + oil + ethenol additive. Gees.

We all just have to keep the vasaline Jar on the Boat so when we go fill up it does not but that much.
