The guys it hurts the most are the offshore fishermen who can burn 50 to 250 gallons in a single 12-hour fishing day. In July 2008 we put 1,100 bucks into one day's worth of fishing after topping it off at the fuel dock! What's your average inshore daily burn, like 5 to 10 gallons?" You got cheap expenses even at ten gallons of gas and two gallons of beer, cokes, or water in small plastic bottles, less than $70. Ugh, lose the live shrimp, dude, them are like 40 bucks a gallon!
That's fo sho! Gotta pick the best days and fellow fishermen to split the expenses.

Not gas prices but work and wind have been keeping me off the water.

There are times when kayaking and having a truck that gets >26mpg are nice. Still, it keeps me from fishing "far away" places like SLP, the Brazos, and X-mas as much.

Not keeping me off the water yet...but i also either walk in or yak it most days.

I may have to start fishing with other people...but since i don't like most people, i'll probably just stop fishing.
