Nice post Martin. That night started my list of memorable catches. I had been trying to catch a "keeper" for three months with little luck and I think "the hotspot" produced 3-4 back to back under your trucks headlights using your rod and reel. I remember not being able to sleep that night.

I have no idea who the first FWE member was I met. I ran across several members as a whole. I fished in a couple of Muddskippers tournaments out of Lutes and was in impressed with the group of guys I met all wearing FWE shirts. I went home, logged on and signed up sometime in late 2008.

I would say that 007 was the first individual member I came across while fishing Chocolate. I found my old buddy Dawg on FWE. We worked together back in 1997. I was a young dumbass fresh out of High School then.

This year I was able to hook up with castaway300 for a couple of days of catching fish, gave Curmudgeon a tour of Chocolate Bayou (sorry the fish weren't biting), made a quick run out with Dawg and of course fished with stingray.

I hope to meet many more of you this year on the water and at the gatherings.

Coe brought me over. He was the first one I met at the first FWE meeting. Then went and fished the lights at his place with my dad 007 Coe and Bailey.
Yeah, and all the muchachas they call me big pappa, when I throw pesos their way!

ive known AP,Moonpie and Muddskipper for a long time...Knew Robalo since the 80's and met him when he was trying to look up a girls skirt at a table in the old Cattleguard Restaurant downtown Houston one afternoon.

As far as FWE, I guess it was Coe or maybe 007.

I found this place through that "other" site. I think the first time I met anyone was when I went to Blockade Runners to look at Coachlaw's wiring. There were quite a few -- 007, Coachlaw, Vjer, Kylie, 2112 -- on the first day and in subsequent trips I met lots more -- including Wiliep, Torque, TwoMack, Fuzzy, SCHU and a bunch of others -- oh yea and some weird dude named Reeltime. I've enjoyed meeting everyone and look forward to meeting many more!!
                  Shut up and FISH!!

Good times in person are what this forum is all about!

First people I met were Coe, Mike Boston, Bailey, and Cody out at one of their old SLP flounder gigging invites I saw on the other site There were also some other cool folks who I have forgotten that I hung out with, including the nice fellow with the lantern who let me gig on his light with him when my battery died. Bailey had a few dud batteries mixed in with the good ones I didn't get any fish, but got to see one get the gig. Later that week I bought my own 12V set up and got a few.

Good times at Hooters talking with FishingRED and his buddies. Sandy shows up sometimes too, Jeremy, Primer, Red Sickr (thanks for going back to the ghost camp for my shoes). Many more who I am forgetting, possibly due to multiple pitchers Also talked to Reeltime and Boom before.

Many good time hunting ducks with Coe and Cody. First duck and got to see my buddy take a banded pintail. Obviously cool boat.

I have fished with 007 (where's he been?), Coe, MajekManiac (Where's he been?), Sandy, Vic, and others at camp, Monte, BountyHunter.

Need to get out and fish more with all the folks above!

I met some royalty buyer/play buster years ago that has helped keep this site going and bought some marina outta bankruptcy after some idjits ruined it. I also know some so-called Flounder saver (saving for his freezer that is) that's been fishing the HAPL Tourney for years-pretty sure he pens his fish for the tourney-those guys go by JT and Muddskipper.

Met Coe, Bailey and I think it was Rob at Jam Beach ramp several years ago, plus 007. And see Kenny quite often-he's usually heading down main canal with his limit while I'm guzzling a beer heading out.

                      BTW, where has 007 been?
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

Looking back through the posts there were a bunch I forgot...

I have hung out with 2112 plenty. Memorable times near SLP with surf rods and alcohol!

Redfish Rob at Hooters, or chasing offshore fish and ducks on Coe's boat.

I'm pretty sure I've met duane and deano before.

I have hung out with Rusty S. in person more than once.

Also Explorer21, who I need to fish with sometime.

I almost met Glenn one time to spearfish

Im still waiting to see who will be the first person from this site that I get to fish with, it just seems that not as manny yakkers or walk in waders, but there are some that I would like to fish with. Hopefully I get to do that one day (Stingray, troutchase, reeltime, and reelshallow).

One that I really would like to fish with is PLUGGER.
We will have to try and hook up soon, walk in and wade or take the yak out(now that I have one). I will hit you up next time I go.

Oh btw I gave you an excellent rating on this thread...Thanks for Posting!! it's fun reading all the replies

Since we're telling stories, 007 my father and I were drifting bastrop I believe. And we were drifting along and all of a sudden my dad's hand slips and he throws his billystix overboard. 007 asked if tat really just happened and my dad just hung his head and started patting his pockets. Within 30 seconds mike had all of his stuff out of his pockets and jumped in, barefoot, over shell, in what I wanna say was 4'-5' of water, without hesitation. About a minute later my dad joins him. Feeling around with their feet to hopefully find the line of the freshly tossed lure. A few minutes go by and my dad finally gets the line wrapped up between his legs. Pulling slowly and ever so gently towards the rod. The reel was on freespool so anything other than extra careful could go no where. Finally my dad catches up to his rod and grabs it. I fire up 007's shoalwater and go scoop them both up. That was the end of that trip so we went back to camp.

Big thanks to 007 for jumpin in after the rod and reel so fast without hesitating, it was very much appreciated and I don't think we can thank you enough.

Good story......here is one for ya:

My Dad hooked an Abu Garcia reel on some kind of rod in Chocolate and took it home and cleaned it the best he could. He wears hearing aids and can't really hear how loud the reel cast. It sounds like a damn pissed off crow. Guess who idled by and told my Dad he was going to scare the fish with that reel?
