Scratch that, I'm running late. Got roped into doing something with the school dance. I hope to make it by 6:30. Kylie, I don't have your number. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

Got to the ramp just after sunset and man, is it beautiful out here. Cold as heck, but ZERO wind. The steam rising off the stacks in Freeport and Choco Bayou looks like skyscrapers going straight up in the air and lit by the lights from the refineries. Stars on the water indeed. Got situated and visited some neighbors down the bayou for supper and a poker game. I came out the big winner, gaining a total of almost $2. I'm rich!
When I left from there around 10:30 my boat was iced over and I nearly slipped on me arse. How does dew freeze when it's not 32 degrees? It's 35 outside and a balmy 52 in the camp. With nobody else here, I'm not messing with the generator and electric heaters. Ye old Coleman heater will do enough to keep me from frosting over.
Sounds like a war zone out here at the moment as some yahoos over toward Christmas are popping off rounds like it's a Muslim wedding. Tides are well below normal and moving out, but the water as mentioned is like glass.
VJER is headed here in the AM, and it looks like Alex is too. Going to get the bolts in to finally attach the pilings to the beams, a job about 2 years overdue. Then I plan to fish a bunch and maybe do some oystering.
It's really strange to be out here without Albert. About now he'd be curled up next to me keeping me warm. I sure miss that bugger. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

not sure what time i'll make it there sandy, i'm meeting buddys to fish at 8 30 we might fish till 12 or 2 depending on the bite, i'll give you a call when i'm leaving my house which will give you ~2 hrs notice.
as far as the frost above freezing, it happens to us all the time at the golf course up to 38 degrees, it has a lot to do with wind, no wind more frost, i think it has to do with things like boats and the ground giving off heat faster than it can be absorbed

Mike, new kitty not working out too good. She's very skittish. She's at home.
We've got Alex, VJER, and Primer out tonight eatin' good and listenin' to Frampton, tellin' old car stories. Everything's good in Titlum-Tatlum.From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

Cat's name is Snapper. Little black snapper.
We chunked the idea of fishing due to the cold. Unfortunately it's not as calm tonight as it was last night. So we watched Star Wars on the camp's new VCR. Yes, it is true, we have taken the step into the 1980's and we now have a VHS player at the camp. What was cool about it for me is Primer hadn't ever seen the whole movie, well by his own admission, not since he was 5. Next weekend we will show The Empire Strikes Back. Who's in?From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

Hey Sandy, does the invite extend to newbies like myself? You make it sound so damn desirable, with deluxe, resort type accommodations. Heck, I'm pretty good with a hammer and drill n such... sides, I so luv me some Star Wars!"You've got to think lucky. Yes, it extends to anyone on FWE. That's why I post it as an invite. We don't have much work to do anymore, but there was a time that everyone that came out here was expected to spend most of the time working, and they did. That's why this is the home of Blockade Runners, because of all the people here did for us and with us. Things are easier now, and it's my fondest wish that all whom helped put the place back together will reap the benefits. As for new people, it ain't your fault you got here late. So come on out. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

It's goin' great. Just finished up a big breakfast. Primer and Alex took the boat out and they're fishin' around the bend. It's a beautiful day, and quite a bit warmer than the last 2 days. Vic and I got the camp all bolted to the pilings yesterday morning and fished afterward with no keepers, but a few fish caught. No plans today, just chillin'.From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

Well y'all, the place is really coming together nicely. Everyone cut out pretty early this morning. With the wind so high, fishin' wasn't happening. I stayed out until 8pm just fiddling around with stuff. I did some reading and caught a few puppy drum too small for keeping. We now have a table set up for playin' cards, eatin' supper, etc. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."
