  • Freeze Report

Early blackouts played havoc on trying to get to work this morning a normal 10 minute commute took 30 min. I had a meeting out in Baytown and man was it cold this morning! The tide was way out in Cedar Bayou and coming over Fred Hartman bridge you could see how far the tide was out, spoils and sandbars exposed, holding water that was frozen etc. Steady traffic inbound & outbound as usual but on the way back from the meeting we saw our tax dollars hard at work.

City of Houston & TXDOT in their infinite wisdom have decided to start de-icing the roads. Hmmm I am pretty sure the road are 100% dry. Meaning we are spraying down that nasty magnesium sulfate or whatever it is for nothing. 2 DOT trucks & 2 HPD cruisers were shutting down freeways and backing up traffic to apply this product... I'm just glad that I can pay them to spray a material down that will wash away tomorrow when it rains

Hopefully it snows and keeps the idiots off the road I had one lady this morning stop in her lane because she was afraid to drive her car over some water

I'm fishing Saturday if anyone wants to join tired of all this craziness her in town lol

Wow! They should probably hold off on that stuff until tomorrow afternoon/evening when the precip starts up. Friday morning is gonna be brutal with a 70% chance. I'm boycotting any driving that doesn't relate to fishing on Friday...

Does that mean you are coming to the meeting?

You have to remember with limited manpower and equipment there is the need to start sanding now. Freezing rain is expected Thursday night and snow/freezing rain Friday. You don't want to sand during the morning/evening rush hours and there are hundreds of bridges and roadways to do.

We've seen it before, the crazies can't drive in normal weather much less with ice on the road.

I personally blame all this sheeeit on Al Gore and the Dummycrats-they said "Global Warming" and pushed BS on us, so God got mad and said "I'll freeze those idiots and prove the Dummycrats are stupid."
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
