Early blackouts played havoc on trying to get to work this morning a normal 10 minute commute took 30 min. I had a meeting out in Baytown and man was it cold this morning! The tide was way out in Cedar Bayou and coming over Fred Hartman bridge you could see how far the tide was out, spoils and sandbars exposed, holding water that was frozen etc. Steady traffic inbound & outbound as usual but on the way back from the meeting we saw our tax dollars hard at work.
City of Houston & TXDOT in their infinite wisdom have decided to start de-icing the roads. Hmmm I am pretty sure the road are 100% dry. Meaning we are spraying down that nasty magnesium sulfate or whatever it is for nothing. 2 DOT trucks & 2 HPD cruisers were shutting down freeways and backing up traffic to apply this product... I'm just glad that I can pay them to spray a material down that will wash away tomorrow when it rains
Hopefully it snows and keeps the idiots off the road I had one lady this morning stop in her lane because she was afraid to drive her car over some water
I'm fishing Saturday if anyone wants to join tired of all this craziness her in town lol
