  • Need Info On Clear Lake/Clear lake shores in nassau bay

Just need some info on where to go in my 12ft flatbottom alumicraft w only a trolling motor

You need to go out on calm days or with light wind the lake can get pretty choppy and a trolling motor & that small boat is not effective in chop, I know I had one. I am not familiar with that area to tell you where to go but take it easy and don't travel to far from where you pull up to or launch from. Be careful, just make sure you have adequate safety gear we hear to many stories.

Stay away from the Clear Lake Channel!!! Too much current when the tide is moving in or out. Your trolling motor may not be able to keep up when the water starts moving. Too much large boat traffic to deal with as well.

A few place that quickly come to mind in no particular order:

        1. Armand Bayou Park
        2. Taylor Lake (put in off the side of Port Rd.)
        3. Clear Creek (put in off the FM 270 boat ramp)
        4. Seabrook Lagoons (between Todville Rd and Hwy 146)
        5. Mud Lake (put in at Clear Lake Park and troll under the bridge into the lake).

If that tide is ripping in or out in the diversionary i would think twice about jst a trolling motor.Watch your forecast and go when the conditions are right.

Taylor Lake and mud lake. There are some nice spots back up in there. Taylor lake has a channel going to it that can rip pretty good with tide movement also. Depending on how strong your trolling motor is you might want to beware there also unless it is light enough to carry then there are some great spots there also.

These spots would be great for 'stingray' to drop in his new kayak for some protected water fishing.

Try armand bayou. Right after you go under the bridge from the lake on the left there is a point that come out by the apartments. The red fish love that spot.

No, the bridge I'm talking about is the one that is in nasa 1 by the boat ramp.

That is where I am talking about also. There is always someone yaking over there that drives a white Tacoma.
