  • Shipping outboards

Been boat-less since last year and bought a project 19' Boston Whaler Raider last May and needs new power. Has twin 79' Rude 85's but in too questionable shape to throw money at. Founds twin fresh water 97' Johnson 70hp's with controls and wiring harnesses for $1,500 but the place was waiting on titles (almost a year ago). Deal was so good that nothing came along that was even close to as good of a deal so just decided to play the wading game (get it... waiting, (no boat so im W-A-D-I-N-G?)

Just got a call from the place and the PO's titles finally came in (been waiting since last may) and they are ready to be shipped. I'm getting the motors shipped to Dockside (where the boat is) and the transporter is going to have them in a flat bed. Is it bad for the outboards to be in the windchill if its 32 outside and the guys going 60mph, its probably 0-10degrees...

What do you guys think? anything to worry about or no?

Nothing to worry about most motors are well insulated its going to be above freezing and the sun will probably be hitting them. Are they full of fluid? When was the last time that they ran etc? I'm sure you'll do a complete overhaul once they arrive to you

Outboards drain, so freezing is not the issue. The lower unit oil won't freeze. Good luck and let us know how it all works out.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
