All, this is a great tournament fun for ALL ages. Open to everyone and a great way to spend time with the family catching HUGE fish.
We are about to experience the annual Black Drum run and these big girls easily hit 25-30LBS. Last year we landed a few in the 60LB and the heaviest aboard my boat at 65 + LBS estimated around 70LBS because it bottomed out a 65LB scale! Easily caught on the bottom in deep water so ship channel or along the jetties these big girls are a fun fight for any angler.
I encourage you all to participate!
Here are the details:
The Tournament will run Tuesday February 1, 2011 through Sunday April 10, 2011 (Official start times are listed on the rules)
This is a long tournament with many opportunities to get out on the water.
Entry Fee is $20 / angler
100% Cash Payout: 1st - 3rd (% listed on Rules Sheet)
CPR = Catch, Photo & Release
The Black Drum must be Landed, Photographed with the appropriate color for that week (or a date / time stamp) and Release alive & in good condition.
Take care when releasing Drum, many are caught at depths so air bladder become distended, a venting tool is highly reccommended for these fish and it will insure that your catch is able to swim off and does not float on the surface and die. Your fish must swim off to be counted!
Winners will be announced at our Crawfish Boil, a date will be posted as we get closer to April. This thread will be annoucing the color code each week so please check it regularly. If you have a time / date stamp option on your camera then you have no need to check back here for the color code.
Registration is up for the tournament, so click on Our Store and sign up, or click the link below!
The Tournament Flyer & Rules are included below. Good luck!
