  • Crab Trap Clean Up??

Does anyone know when the 2011 clean up is? I have looked all over the internet and can't find the dates.

Feb 18th to the 27th is what it says in the handbook this year.

I'm sure we'll be at it again. I've got a bunch of em on the radar already.

Your boat will hold a lot more crab traps than mine! Maybe you'll beat me this year!

Every year the tpwd shuts down the bay for 10 days for crabbing and any traps that are left are considered abandoned. A few brave souls (including myself) go out during those 10 days and collect derelict traps to be destroyed. We try to get as many volunteers as we can from the site to participate. Here's a pic from last year..

Sorry about that Corndog. I'm sure she didn't start out that way. She was reticent at first, then she began to enjoy it. She told me when she grew up she wanted to be a garbage skow. I felt deep regret when I heard this. I just had no choice but to be a bad influence.

I would be happy to volunteer. Dont have a boat, but dont mind lending a hand to clean things up a little. Shoot me a PM if ur boat needs a crewhand.

Well thanks for the help guys. I think the Aggie Gulf Coast Fishermen are gonna get a group together and spend a weekend cleaning up.
