Welcome aboard. I would also vote state park to walk in. Best of luck. Come hang out at a tournament afterwards that way you can chat up folks and pot lick like I do!

I'm not from the mountains, born and bred in Pasadena, Tx. but temporarily working in Hobbs, NM where I take advantage of the mountain streams. I usually fish Texas lakes (Buchanan, LBJ, Inks) but plan to do more coastal fishing. As always, I consult the SMEs before I attempt anything to make a more pleasant day of fishing. I think I'll try Caranchua & Dana Cove. How's the surf fishing on the southside of Galveston across from Jamaica Beach in December. I'll probably fish everywhere I can wet a hook, but any insight would help.

Snake island cove east of Sea Isle . Look on google earth / hook n line map . Go to the community pier on the east side . Near the pier gate on the right is a slough in the rock barrier you can slide a kayak through or walk in . To the east is the shell island . Take the kayak there . Boat lane there is too deep to wade across.GEORGE A. BRANARD, COLOR SERGEANT, CO. L, 1 ST TEXAS INFANTRY, HOOD'S TEXAS BRIGADE, C.S.A. : S.C.V.
