  • Red tide not affecting fishing

Each year, numerous calls and notes are received from last-minute vacationers. The majority are asking about the red tide.

Something to note here...This is not a "RED TIDE" a red tide affects EVERY single fish not just shad... These kills were caused by low oxygen levels but to say that we are having a red tide is a bit of a stretch. The fact that Galveston Daily News is fueling the fire is crazy to me. If you have ever been in a red tide your throat burns, the water turns red, fish floating everywhere & there's a film over the top of the water. Irritants burn your eyes, can cause breathing issues and even make some people sick. We dealt with one in Costa Rica earlier this year and what we have here in G-town is nothing like it.

Agree. BTC and my neighbor Mark were offshore the day the kill occurred and they did not see anything but dead shad-no red tide and no noxious fumes associated with red tide and all fish were shad. Red Tide does not "target" a single speciaes-all fish in it would die and if you were near it, your eyes and throat would burn. Sumthin's "fishy" about the BS being reported. Me thinks Obama took a swim in the gulf and that poisoned the fish and the major media don't wanna say that.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
