Thanksgiving is the time to give thanks to the Lord for all of the blessings he has bestowed upon us; friends, family, health and business. A year ago I would never have guessed that our little “Mom and Pop” rod shop would have the successes that we have had. My cup runneth over and I am truly blessed
As Thanksgiving approaches, I want to take time to give thanks to all of you who have made Charlie’s Custom Rods possible. CCR started as a hobby over fifteen years ago. Since the oil prices crashed in 2009, CCR has become what I refer to as a, “Forced Opportunity.” This opportunity would not be possible with out you.
First I want to thank Team “Fight’em Fair”, Robert Rathkamp and Josh Brian. Two of the hardest fishermen I have ever had the privilege to fish with. When I got my booth at The Houston Fishing Show at the George R. Brown, I knew I could not do it all by myself. I offered two rods a cap and a T-shirt. What started as a very limited sponsorship has turned into a great partnership. I can’t thank you enough.
I want to thank my buddy Capt. Ken Sabin. “Clown Luv Ain’t Nice.” He has been wearing out the trout and reds on his CCR Pro Wader and pushing my rods like no other.
I want to thank my competitors, Waterloo and Laguna. You guys keep me on my toes, pushing me to be better with every rod. At the fishing show, Jeff and Danny Neau and Jimmy Burns came over, introduced themselves and welcomed me into the fold. Even though we are competitors, we can still stop and have a beer together. Thanks guys.
Jen Green and the Xtreme Redfish Trail crew and anglers, it has been my privilege to get to know you over the last year. Thank you for all of your input and knowledge that you have shared. You have made me a better rod builder and angler. I am proud to be your friend.
I want to thanks my inner circle of friends; John, Sam, Ragen, Brad, Ruben, Ken, Danny…
Brothers, I could not have done it with out you.
My wife Sarah and kids who said, “Just Do It.” I love you.
And last but not least, I want to thank my customers. With all of the great rod builders out there, you took a chance on me. I hope that I have provided a quality product at a quality price and I hope I passed on some knowledge that helps make your fishing experience better. Thanks to each of you.
It is truly a blessing to have a business where I have the opportunity to make a living doing something I love. There are no words to allow me to express that appreciation.
Though the times have been tough, we keep on going thanks to all of you.
Once again, thank you all. Be safe and have a happy Thanksgiving.
