Bankruptcies-no, just unemployment or wage lowering due to being put on 'part time' pay to keep from having to supply mandatory insurance to some employee-such as your kids. Boo Hoo HOO I feel so sorry for a business that does not supply Health Insurance to an employee. And then use a pitiful excuse to get outa doing it and place the employee on part time !!
Thank God the ACA came about to allow low wage people health insurance. So hiring a person to work for them and not supply them health insurance is okay by you ? Just because it will keep them in business ?

I pulled the bankrupcy talking point out because its true that that no one in our fine country should have to file bankruptcy because their child or wife or husband has a cancer or a severe disease. But it happened all the time before the ACA.

Yes, a company can hire and fire at will and damn will should have that right, so long as non-discriminatory under current law.

If I had to chose between cutting hours of an employee or closing up shop, Farging A that employee is now a part timer-wouldn't even blink doing it-may feel bad for him/her but the choice is no job or part time job.

Which makes more sense MG? Lose your job or go part time-you choose. The reason is because some law that forces your employer to either become unprofitable and close shop or cut costs, meaning cut employee work schedules.

Johnny works at P.B. Lure Company 40 hours/week.

Paul, the owner, is now forced to pay for Johnny's healthcare insurance at $1000/month or cut Johnny's hours.

If he pays $1000/mo insurance premium for Johnny, he cannot afford to buy a new machine which increases output, which ultimately increases revenue, so Paul decides he has to cut Johnny to part-time so Paul's company doesn't pay for insurance, and purchases a new widget maker that makes a new-fangled plastic lure called the "Satan". Johnny now can quit and look for a new job or can continue at PB Lures. Johnny now makes less money, so his buying power is down. He talks to several of his fishing buddies and they also got put on part time schedules, so their buying power is down also. Paul sees a drop in revenue since Johnny and his entire entourage of fishing buddies don't have the money to buy Paul's new "Satan" Lure-sales are down. Now Paul's losing revenue, Johnny and his buds spend less since they make less and buy less. Paul in 6 months lays Johnny off due to slowed demand for the Satan Lure. Johnny goes to apply for unemployment and still is required by LAW to have insurance-he has a choice-either don't pay rent or buy REQUIRED health insurance-he pays rent, hoping he qualifies for crappy Medicaid and 'subsidies'. Paul closes his business office and warehouse now (the warehouse owner now loses rent income because the economy is tanking and no new business is being opened and the warehouse owner gets foreclosed on by the bank) and moves his entire operation into his garage. Johnny is working at McDonald's flipping burgers part time and barely paying rent and barely getting by. Paul is approached by a Florida Lure Mfg. Company that pays him $1MM for his lure design and patent. Paul retires and fishes, but after paying 32% or more in taxes of his gain and it wasn't capital gains at 20% rate-was regular income, but realizes he can't afford to retire because he and his wife are by LAW required to have insurance which costs them $$2000/month and he's 52 years old with no future job prospect since all he ever did was make lures, so his net after tax amount from the sale will last 10 years IF insurance rates do not double every 5-6 years (which is about the norm). Johnny works the next 40 years wishing some GD socialist yankee didn't force Paul to supply insurance or he'd be doing alright making lures with Paul. Meanwhile Paul is struggling to pay ad valorem taxes on his house, utilities, homeowner/flood and windstorm at $10,000/year, plus the $2000/month health insurance at a $5000 deductible.

Now MG-maybe you can understand that ObamaCare is bad-it is bad for Paul and Johnny. It causes a decrease in buying power by consumers which affects companies by having fewer sales and less revenue, which results in an economic downturn-now maybe you understand why Comrade Obama DID NOT MANDATE BUSINESSES TO COVER EMPLOYEES THIS YEAR-IT WOULD KILL THE ECONOMY AND HIS DUMMYCRATIC PARTY!!
