    Push for E15, TIDE article

    I just wanted to make everybody aware of the article in TIDE magazine about E15 gasoline, written by a Yamaha VP. I went ahead and mailed my congressman after reading the article. Maybe you have already made your opinion known, but if not, consider doing so. Or maybe do it again.

    Basically, the Yamaha VP is saying that testing proves that the millions of marine engines in use will fail prematurely if we are forced to use E15 in marine engines.

      The agri-ethanol lobby needs to be shut down. There are only disadvantages to ethanol like water retention and low octane. We need to get rid of it not increase it!

            Saw that ........ Ethanol was suppose to reduce fuel prices and clean up the air . But food is scarce and farmers get more money selling corn overseas , so corn prices are up .

              And ethanol as a fuel is a lie. It's basically empty space in your fuel tank. With E-10 I get 7% less mileage per gallon. That's a LOT!

              The agricultural lobby is indeed out of control. Before we blame one party or another, ask yourself who pushes for "green" things, many of which are not particularly good for the environment. Can you imagine if everyone owned electric cars? What would that do to our electrical grid? Can you imagine the amount of hazardous battery waste? Or how about the amount of less than clean fuels we have to go through to generate all that electricity? These "alternative" fuels and methods of propulsion are all a lie when you come down to it. If you believe electric cars or ethanol are green, I've got some Al Gore carbon offset credits to sell you. Sure, it's mostly one political party pushing this stuff, but they are not all to blame. It's a sectional thing, and the entire midwest is booming from the lies of ethanol, Democrat and Republican alike.

              Butanol would be our saving grace, but research on that has been quashed by the corn lobby.

                  Ah, with ethanol, they're both at fault. But I never said which one was the worst. You might have read into it and seen that, but that's because you know what you know. I don't think anyone is claiming ownership of Al Gore anymore. He's fringe whacko. Can't blame an entire party for their radicals.
