Just a few pics from Sept. bird hunting.
Got to dove hunt the opener with a buddy. This is the first time I've hunted over cut grain fields and it was just too much fun. Average hunt was limits in a few hours, with about 5 white wings (none of those San Antonio monster ww) in it, and 3 or 4 bonus eurasian collared doves on top. Plenty of bad shooting. Towards the end, I would pass on any marginal shots, and never use all 3 shells. Shell expense was way over expected. The guys said that it was a bad year for dove numbers!
They said the ringnecks are rapidly growing in numbers. Before they would never see them, 1 year ago it was 1 or two per trip. Hope to see more next year.
Teal season was fun too, and I got to get out when I could and had a few successful hunts.
Good times. Dove and teal are fun, but dove are stupid, and teal are low in size and bag limit. I am ready for some real hunting, and that means DIVERS!!!
