I'm looking at getting a father/son lease package to hunt this season. I'm not as concerned with killing a bunch of ducks as I am with having a safe place I can take my nine yr old duck hunting. The public route is just not for me. There are just too many people in this area to hunt public. Any suggestions or past experiences would be appreciated.

Now, unfortunately, the water hyacinth has taken root in the project. We used to hunt north of I-10 but our spots are choked full of hyacinth now. Ducks are nowhere around that area now. It was good a few years back when Ike came and the salt intrusion killed all the hyacinth. But now its back with a vengence.Originally posted by SCHU View PostWe used to go up the trinity river above I-10 into wallsvile area d hunt out of a boat, used to do alright, just go a ways up there. That was more than a few years ago, though!

We have a couple open spots on my lease for next year. Just north of Bay City. 4,000 acres of which 400 acres is rice. Multiple DU projects, Guest allowed, Guaranteed water (Well water). Only 15 members total. Bunk House that sleeps 10. (no more than 3-4 people ever stay at it, most members drive in from their beach house or houston) 1:15 drive from Houston. Let me know if you are interested.

thanks for the replies. I ended up getting a father/son package with Waterfowl Paradise. I hope everything works out. So far the opening dove weekend was a bust. I killed two birds both mornings (hunted five hrs both days). I wish i could say it was my bad shooting but I hit everyone that came by. Hopefully teal season will be better. If not I will be looking for a new place next year. Good luck to all hunting this weekend.
