depends on the county. Contact the game warden for the county. If you do not have permission to be on the property bordering the river then in most place you're limited to the sand bars in the middle. However, the new law in effect states you must shoot up river or down river and never across the river towards land you do not have permission to be on. The new law states that by discharging a firearm in the direction of property you do not have permission to hunt is now trespassing when hunting river systems. They do enforce this.

you will be wasting time hunting ducks on the brazos in the sugar land, richmond, rosenberg area's. plus, its not real hunter friendly.
