We didn't kill any geese but we did kill a duck and I really don't know what it is. The guys who killed it called it a female blue bill. I don't really know. Has anyone ever heard of a blue bill? I don't have a picture of it.

Did ya'll shoot that out of a goose spread?
              I see mostly lessers locally.
Here is a pic of a greater I shot on a diver hunt up north last year.

Yes we had a goose spread set up. We don't have any water but the ducks were still flying around. We won't kill a limit of ducks but will kill some. They shot a wood duck and a teal earlier in the week.

Ok hunted yesterday but no geese but 1 duck. Today no ducks and 1 speckabelly goose. Goose hunting has been tough this weekend. Our rice was not cut until yesterday. Anyway the geese were very high and not decoying in. The one speck we shot was the only goose that came into range today. None were in range yesterday. I wished i had more to report.

Goose hunting down here is tough.
The only time i have beend successful is to setup where they were the day before, the way they were the day before and hide hide hide then when you think you are hidden enough hide some more. Even then about 12 other factors have to be in your favor.

Then there is the whole thing about jumping the shot and being able to hit em.

I hunt way up north in the winter and the goose hunting there is not much different than dove hunting.

Just pull up a chair next to their preffered watering hole and that's about it.

Yea I know its tough here. But when you can call them down into the spread its almost like shooting a big ole buck! I am a deer hunter at heart but I picked up goose hunting a couple of years ago and I don't do as much deer hunting now. anymore.
