I must have missed this thread. We had a fantastic day! We knew the rules and we were clear on them. We had a well thought out game plan and executed it to pinpoint precision.

I jumped in with Keith and followed him around. We quickly landed some trout and then around sunrise I busted a beautiful 24" trout. I switched over from tails to a top water as Keith started getting good blowups. Caught one on a spook jr and was thrilled to have caught my first trout of the year on top water. Back to tails and it was on the rest of the day! At our last stop Jamin nailed a nice Redfish and I followed up with a nice one as well then apparently everyone ran away from me. I wasn't aware, but Keith said a stingray the size of a ford ranger had breached right behind me. I never saw anything... I hooked into another redfish on my walk back to the boat. I sat down for 15 minutes on the boat and was done.

The weigh-in was a different story and just frustrating when you have good fish that don't get credited because of a 19 3/4" redfish being called 20" after 20 times measuring and a team weighed in 30 minutes after the close of weigh in. Hopefully they get these two issues among some others resolved for future tournaments.

It was a fun day on the water and regardless of the outcome we were on the fish all day and what matter is that I had a kick arse time with some good friends that I would have never had met if it hadn't been for FishWestEnd!

Congratulations on your topwater fish and 24" trout Coe. I would of been pissed off too, there's no reason that the tournament directors should allow someone to weigh-in late.

Lets leave this alone it's nothing but a downer lol. We just will not fish another one until the issues are corrected. The main thing is we had fun!!! And a kick butt day on the water AND congrats on the top water hook up my friend.

Very nice guys. Relax Jamin, you could have been doing something a lot worse, like working or sitting around like me

Can't win 'em all, but didn't you come in 3rd place? Did two teams weigh in late?

One team brought in a illegal redfish (it was too short) they won 1st place
The other team brought in fish 30 minutes late to the table. They had the same length we did. They won second for some reason??? Lol
Both teams should have been disqualified.

Sometimes when you're not in the click you receive poor treatment for no apparent reason. It's just the way things go.

But as long as the fishing is good, all is well.

Regardless of the outcome, it was still a good day on the water with some stand up guys. The fishing was good! It got a whole lot better for me after I chummed up a big slick from the Dripping Springs the night before!
Hopefully they will have all of the kinks worked out before the next one.
