I've always used a Curado but recently picked up a Shimmano Thunnus 4000 w/ the baitrunner feature.

I have the Shimmano Stradic 4000 CI but it does not have all the features of the Thunnus.

Fished the Thunnus in FL two weeks ago and it's unreal. You can free-line bait with this "egg beater" and release the spool without having to even touch the bail; it is one really nice reel. It's a little above your upper price range by $50 but it is a killer piece of equipment.

Mg's are the best. Gotta clean them more often but I think it's worth it.
