that's how i got started. got a map, and started to read the forum. also go with someone. learn their moves, ask questions. everyone has different ways of fishing. learn from them, then modify their style. that's what i did. the gentleman that i saw catching fish has a very unique way of fishing. i modified it to fit my style. works and catches fish. there's always someone catching fish. walk in and feel the ground. cast and feel the ground, humps, dips, structure, weeds, shell, etc. it'll take a while to learn, but you'll get to know every square footage of the place. during the winter, look for drop offs, mud/sandy bottom. fish will be in the drop offs, then start to go to the mud as it warms up. hope this helps. Lord Bless.

Give me shout sometime and I will take you out on the boat. I can show you around Christmas bay where you can do some wading from the shore.

Just a little advise if you go into chocolate. Bring your own toilet. I think it should be renamed toilet bowl bay. That just has a funny ring to it.
I have an uncontrolable desire to wanna jerk my rod.

Take what Rusty said and start there. Study the GISPs shoreline on Google Earth and make a trip down there to do some fishing. Once you get back home, fire up Google Earth again and take a look at where you were. The next time a strong front blows the bay out, maybe you can make a trip out there to see what is exposed.

I am going tomorrow morning to seabrook flats to see if i can start to figure this out and i will remember what i was seeing and then look and see what it looks like on google maps, and i like to target trout or redfish but i do fish for everything else. i will cook and eat anything!!
