For an hour we were getting them on every single cast. I tried a new rod and I'm paying for it. Little too much backbone. Some good fish out here. One guy using shrimp has about 8 all over 20". He has two trout strung that are both 27 and 28".

he's over the one over 25" limit but dang, that's a nice stringer of fish.

Whew!! I knew I should've saved that midnight romance for another time, but when you get to your sixties you do what you have to do.

Went back out and managed one more keeper. Bluefish were terrors today. Wind is blowing and making it rough now. Water still has good clarity but if the wind blows like this all day and night it'll be bumpy.

Curious to hear what it will be like during the evenings. I've always fished the surf at first light. Thinking about going tomorrow evening after my honey do's.

If you can deal with the heat, may be worth a shot. Supposed to be a hard outgoing tide.
