Nope. At least not for me and Ryan and dozens of others. Saw one trout caught at the jetties. I hit one pompano on pink spook jr. Nothing else was caught. Was a big sporty and seaweed was terrible. Maybe it will get better soon. I'm sure a few lucky ones caught some fish but they weren't thick at all this morning. Drove up and down surfside beach and even went to Quintana. Nothing.

still rough this morning when I woke up at daybreak. didn't see anyone catching any so went back to sleep until 8. no bait in the water and still no one catching any. might be good this afternoon with the outgoing tide. nice meeting you guys, we will have to get on them later in the week.
the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.

There was a lot of bait in the places I fished especially Quintana. But none of the bait was nervous. Someone posted a good report on 2cool but no pictures, so I don't believe it based on my experience. Seaweed was pretty thick in some places. None existent in Quintana. East wind started kicking up and dirtying the water a bit more. Not sure what tomorrow will produce. Good luck to all.

SS: If I can get my work wrapped up by 5, I'm heading somewhere for an evening wade. A buddy of mine (Reality Czech) is going to be camping on the west end of Bryan Beach and if his recon sounds good I will probably head there. If not I'll probably try the Pass again. If I'm heading that way I'll swing by and see if you want to join me. I'll throw an extra PFD in the truck in case you do want to join and want to wear one.

Bryan beach is pretty rough. With the east winds try closer to the base of the jetties. There was a ton of bait, no seaweed, pretty flat, but no trout. Everything was good there except the presence of trout. If I would count on an evening bite that's where I would go.

Thanks for the information. How was the water color at Quintana this morning and was Bryan Beach still looking like a rough cup of hot chocolate?

Color wasnt bad this morning - getting pretty choppy this afternoon though. Color still doesnt look terrible though - at least from what I can see out my office window.
                        Shut up and FISH!!

Thanks. I need an office like yours. Since I just don't have much faith in Quintana, the decision is made for a late afternoon till dark wade in SLP next to the remains of the old pier. I just hope the east wind several people have talked about isn't too strong or it will make for a lot of wave slaps in the face this evening.

                            monday?

No luck this morning. Headed to the pass after I talked with spook and nothing there either.

I've never done well on the Freeport side on an incoming tide which is what I think you had this morning. For me, late afternoon evening on an outgoing has been the best. Heading out the door to give it a try right now

I guess my buddy and I were the lucky group today. We found them. Best surf day I've had in Galveston.
We really had decent water. A little rough at times, but clarity was nice. We limited out, but took us about 5 hours to do so.
Lots of good fish, 20+ with 25 being the biggest. Pirates beach, furthest east street, near the public beach entrance.
