I'll be in the area sometime tomorrow; some are predicting that it will lay enough by tomorrow PM. After seeing it this morning I'm not too sure about that, but Monday AM is looking like a pretty good bet. I may try a quick 6-7:30 surf wade Monday AM. One thing is the water color is still pretty good, so the minute the swells decrease to less than 2' the fishing should really turn on. By the way, the tide levels were running very, very high this morning. Virtually no wind at Surfside right now, but it was pumping hard south this morning when I tried a first light wade in Christmas (a skunk not worth a new thread report)

I might have to give it a run Tues or Wed am. Starting to look a little better. If they get down to 1' I will try it.
Tides are not looking good for a morning run though. Mid Day to evening looks better.sigpic

A buddy of mine and I fished with Danny at the spot he is camped at late this afternoon (from 7-8). We only went to the back of the second bar and while its not choppy or really rough, the swells were still a little big. The bluish water at that time (on an outgoing/low tide) were already to the backside of the third bar. It will be green to the beach in the AM. If you can be there, I would suggest going. By the way each of us caught one, I on a gold spoon; my buddy, John on a live shrimp. and I'm not sure what Danny caught his on. Prior to meeting up with Danny, John and I fished SLP off the second bar between the bridge and the site of the late SLP Pier. We each had three solid hook-ups, mine all on a 3/4 oz gold Johnson Sprite, 2 of John's on shrimp and one on some off-brand silver spoon. John landed all 3 of his, me only one, that measured somewhere between 24" & 25" on my rod rule. It's gonna be a great week in the surf if the predictions hold true and by the way it was great meeting Super Spook and his lovely lady.

It's a good bet. I really shouldn't, but I may try a quick run for first light till 7:30 in the AM. I haven't a clue what Galveston County looks like and I'm not sure what Bryan Beach will look like, but SLP to the Freeport Jetties should be "Ice Cream" at first light tomorrow.
