.....those weren't "sardines", they might have been Ballyhoo. Jhua, did they look like these?
How can they swim around the rocks in those plastic packages?

Yellow 9' kayak out in the Galv. surf, probably me.

I fished with no hits on top for a while. Switched to gulp jig and had one come off. Saw that the vis was workable and abandoned the rod for the dive gear.

Going back for more right now... I do not have high hopes for the visibility with that moderate SSW we had overnight, but you don't know if you don't go.
the water was so clear in surfside yesterday you could see boottom ten feet out in front of you in chest deep water.
the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.

I caught trout in excess of 20" both Mon and tues. in the surf in Galveston. Had eight Monday and seven yesterday that I strung and missed a few. Pearl/ chartreuse and pearl/pink soft plastics were the bait of choice. A fellow down from me was using topwaters and caught one or two. Fish bit from 9: 30 til 1:00 on tidal movement and bite was sporadic. saw a couple span. mackeral and jacks caught mixed in. Sand trout to 18" dominated the action with a good speck in the mix at times. Fish were very spry.

Great report Jhua! Well-written, honest, and I appreciate you taking the time to keep us "calibrated" on what is happening in the surf.

Hang in there on the schooling...and I know your time for limiting out in the surf is on its way.
