I thought about it. Thought about it long and hard. I was going to make my title of the post very misleading, and get the people at work And home blood boiling. Ah, the visions of a missed opportunity. Unfortunately, that is not what I have to report. While conditions seemed ideal, with bait running around, glass calm surf and pretty green water, I have absolutely nothing to report. Threw some tops and tails to no avail as I say. The bite (if there was one) may have been very early with the near full (but waning) moon we have. Or fish haven't arrived yet. Maybe it is even in the afternoon, who can say? There is plenty of bait. I counted 10-11 schools of mullet and what look like sardines running up and around the rock groins. It's a sad day for me though. Only consolation is that gorgeous sunrise this morning.

i had about the same results today.fish the 61st street pier before dawn with tops and only had a couple of blowups. then i went down by the flagship and fished of the rocks for awhile with a couple of bites on plastics, still no fish. thought i saw you in the water on my way to secret spot and saw a few good trout caught there. i heard yesterday was better, but it wont be long.the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.

I figured with the near full moon they would still be feeding at night. Mannnn, I want school to end!Originally posted by SupaTech View PostA Very reliable source informed me that he got a LLM limit off of 91st last night. Plus a slot red. Had to do a little work, though.Resident Ninja

Thanks for the report ! The trout are slowly making their way to the surf, after the next spell of winds and it calm a little it should explode."Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after" ~ Henry David Thoreau

That's too bad Johnathan, sometimes its like that. Keep at it and there will be HAMMER days!
Yellow 9' kayak out in the Galv. surf, probably me.
I fished with no hits on top for a while. Switched to gulp jig and had one come off. Saw that the vis was workable and abandoned the rod for the dive gear.
Going back for more right now... I do not have high hopes for the visibility with that moderate SSW we had overnight, but you don't know if you don't go.
