I woke up early but was debating whether or not to hit the surf...ended up leaving a lil later than usual but still ended up on the water a lil before 7. Conditions were pretty good...the waves were rolling with a light chop but the water was decent...sandy but could see my feet in waist deep water.. Started with the usual popping cork with live shrimp...on the way out my bait bucket door opened up so I lost a dozen or so shrimp...went back to restock and in my rush to get back in the water I somehow pulled my aerator hose out so all the rest of my shrimp died. The fish were biting but it was different than how they were on Monday...they were less aggressive but still biting. Conditions were similar Monday but the fish were attacking the bait as soon as it hit the water. I was catching fish consistently and all my keepers were around the same size 15''....and they were biting on all my dead shrimp. I ran out of bait around 10 o'clock and swtiched to my ol' faithful...electric chicken on 1/8oz jig head. I first used one of the longer electric chickens but the fish were just nibbling on the tail...switched to a shorter length with the stocky tail and started to get hits from some sand trout...I knew once they started hitting that the fish were seeing that color. Fished off the same point casting in the same spot every time...next thing I know I had an 18" trout on line. Kept hitting that same spot and then another...19 1/2". Tried it again and ended my day with a 21 1/2" trout...biggest trout I have caught. That's 2 trips in a row where the electric chicken has coaxed some big trout out of hiding. My best day individually on the surf...caught my limit and had a good time doing it. I learn a lil more each day
