Saturday afternoon looks like it will be great conditions. If I am in town I will be hitting it up for sure!

Oh yeah, Freeport is good. I have only fished off of the jetty, but have done well enough sometimes. FYI, even though Freeport is not much further S. than Galveston, they seem to get the surf trout earlier than us. Live shrimp this time of year could pay off. Bring mackerel tackle too, as the spanish macks are often plentiful right now.

fished galveston side of slp on monday evening: caught 2 bull reds to 38in. also limit on slot reds to 28in. tons of catfish and several hits that either broke, bent, or spit the hook. fished with live, dead shrimp, live mullet and squid. most big bites on mullet.

Good results... That's a heavily fished area.

the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.

Gonna be fishing close to the Pass tom. afternoon and Sat. morning before I have to head to work that afternoon. I was planning on parking my kayak a few hundred yards of the beach. I'll post the results when I get back.

There were some pretty large swells in the surf for what the forecast said. Geez, it was hairy paddling out between sets. Managed to get out and drop anchor but only got a few hits. I hate the wind!
