  • Unexpected Catch

Went up to a CenTX lake this last weekend to chill out for a bit. Ran the lines for a short while. This sow had me thinking I had a really nice catfish on my jug. Glowing chartreuse nightcrawlers did the trick Definetely not expecting my PB buffalo on this trip...

Ended up with 2 keeper-size cats, which isn't that good, but I only ran them out in the aftenoon, and pulled them just after sundown, so it wasn't ideal jugging by any means.

CRAP! I mean Carp! Throw that beotch back!

I was watching the WFN(World Fishing Network) this weekend, and they were having a tournament in BC catching Carp. They must really be bored up there.

I caught one a few years ago while Bass fishing. I thought I had a monster Bass on the line until I got it to the surface. Imagine my dissapointment...

EXACTLY. You could cook it up for your 'friends' and say its tilapia. BIG tilapia.

They actually sell buffalo (the fish) meat in Fiesta. That stuff is dirt cheap, but I guess it would go fine in the caldo.

Yeah "Lady Bird Lake" as it is now called is a world-class carping hot spot. Those brits fly down there and spend tons of money on it. Remote strike indicators, super-long graphite rods in huge arrays, landing mats, all kinds of specialized stuff.

I would like some of those remote strike indicators for fishing long rods from the sand though. Pretty cool stuff, they set off a pager when you get a strike, so you can sit in your tent and do... well, whatever it is you like to do.

Good fight on light line! The pit on Monticello in TC had some huge ones and corn kernels always did the trick. There was a lady who used a pressure cooker to prepare them, but I didn't mess with it. Good bass fishing in there too and I guess you could dump a yak in there if the gate was open.

That is a big buffalo. I bet you did think you had one big ol cat. I saw on another forum a kid caught a 50 pounder that is the new junior IGFA world record. They can be fun on light line.

I was just thinking. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Maybe this whole post is one man's trash.
