I will try to find the site where I found the build instructions the hardest part was cutting the sail and mounting the sail. But in a few hours It was finished.
I have only taken it out once so far at night. It was light winds but I went from the back of Galveston airport across Offatts Bayou much faster than I could paddle. The wind was out of the south east and made it easy both ways. It takes some getting use to and you probably need a rudder but I have seen videos where people used the sail without a rudder.
I did not use ripstop nylon for this sail maybe next time. I wanted the whole thing to be see through and found a clear poly tarp online that was 10'x6' for about $20 shipped. It worked out good and I have enough left over to use as a window if i decide to make a sail out of ripstop nylon.
