  • Redfish Tournament Report (10/15/11)

Adam Shields and I went out kayaking in search of our tournament redfish. We got in on the water and 5:30 and were cruising the marshes by 6. We were greeted with no mosquitoes, light winds and this...

We were expecting the reds to turn on any minute. That minute never came. Paddling for miles and we only found single cruising reds. Many were spooked by our kayaks and none were really feeding. I saw a few tailing in shallow waters, but it was nothing we were expecting. Adam ended up catching all the reds. I had shots at a few, but no takers. Water was dirty, with visibility a few inches. The only color that seemed to work was red and gold. Our reds went around 23-22. Unfortunately, the stringer came off and so did our fish. We call it conservation :P Thanks Adam for the fishing today.

Jonathan, didn't realize you lost your fish & stringer man. That stinks. At least you got out there on the water bro. Good seeing you today!

I think you (or your fishing partner) ran into my buddy Shawn possibly...I was going to fish that same marsh with him but I couldn't get a kayak to borrow. He said he talked to a guy that had lost his stringer with 2 reds on it...small world if he did and a funny coincidence if 2 different people on the same day lost their stringer with 2 reds on it. Tough luck....scenic view out there for sure though.
