  • Need some transducer mounting advice

I need to mount a transducer for a lowrance elite-5
    dsi:

    on
the back of a 18' critchfield cc. current transducer is mounted thru hull so I
have no references. How do yall determine where to mount?? I read the
instructions but they are pretty vague and just give general location. I NEED
this to read depth on plane and it has to be out of the way in case I get in
    some mud etc.

I read that right side of the engine if better for the
    transducer?
mounting the headunit and running the cables/power is not an
issue, just WHERE to mount the transducer. Also, I read about using 5200 to seal
the screw holes.. where can I buy that?

5200 is the shiz. You can get that at academy, west marine, etc..the toughest sealant.
