We have a deal in the works to have a small Gulf Coast Bay Skiff fitted with a CC and remote steering. I like the idea of having the battery under the center console for a little help with weight distribution. What do you guys and gals think? Does the starting battery have to be as close to the engine as possible?

No, no, no....Originally posted by Hogie70 View PostOn the Gulf Coast the fuel tank is under the floor...
This is the 15' Bay Skiff. A new hull they are offering. I saw it for the first time at this years Boat Show. I would much rather support GCB vs Carolina Skiff or Sundance Boats.
We are taking a bare GC Bay Skiff and slicking it up for my wife. She wants her own boat to go out and do her own thing. Based off your answers, I will be installing the batt under the CC.

Put under CC, make sure heavy enuf gauge cables to take the amps-the cables will run more $ than the battery!! Ya might consider dual batteries??? But weight may be a major factor-you don't want the wifey screaming at ya that "The boat wouldn't start" because you already know "It's your fault." if it don't!! Good luck Buoy-Mike and Susan make nice boats!"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
