Last minute change of plans allowed The Moonpie to sneak off last night and do a little night trip.
While JT was sleeping somebody was out there catching fish!
Put in at Bastrop Bayou bridge and drove all the way out to Cold Pass.
Coming across Bastrop Bay was ROUGH! Wind was howling from the ESE.
Got to a protected shoreline and set up. Light on about 9pm.
Water was flat out beautiful clear green. Bait all over the place.
Tossed out a couple of poles with finger mullet, relaxed, drank some coffee, and waited for the fischies. Didn't take long. Reds showed up within 10 minutes. Trout took a little longer.
Was having a real hard time working the trout rod and the redfish rod at the same time. Hate it when that happens.
Mostly schoolie trout. But managed a few keepers.
Burned thru a quart of shrimp and 2 dozen finger mullet by 1am. Tried throwing a few small plastic tails but little luck with them.
Wrapped it up about 1:30am and headed back in.
